Question: What is encryption?

Encryption is a process to transform readable data to unreadable data that we usually call encrypted data by using an algorithm, so that the data cannot be readable by hackers or unauthorized personnel. In contrast, the process to decrypt or to make encrypted data readable again is called decryption.

Encryption is commonly used in VPN communication, secured wireless network, secured website with SSL enabled, email encryption, etc.
