TP-Link Archer AX6000 8-Stream WiFi 6 Smart WiFi Router
TP-Link Archer AX6000 is TP-Link’s first router built with next-generation 802.11ax Wi-Fi Technology, which achieves Wi-Fi performance at its ultimate level. The revolutionary combination of OFDMA, 8×8 MU-MIMO and 1024QAM improve throughput by 4 times and dramatically increase the whole network capacity and efficiency. It’s also backwards compatible with 802.11a/b/g/n/ac.
It gives you 4x larger capacity with OFDMA technology which greatly increases the number of connected devices by assigning channels to more devices. 1024 QAM and Long OFDM Symbol boost overall speeds up to an incredible 6000 Mbps. Furthermore, BSS Color technology ensures smooth and stable connections by eliminating signal interference, while beamforming and Rangeboost deliver stronger and far-reaching network.
This TP-Link Archer AX6000 WiFi 6 router comes with extremely powerful 1.8GHz 64-bit quad-core processor with two distinct co-processors and 8Gb of RAM powers through multiple complex tasks and demanding applications with ease. Its processing power allows the router to support multiple high-demand applications at the same time.
You can set up the Archer AX6000 in just few minutes via Bluetooth by simply download the Tether app, follow the on-screen instructions, and get your network up and running in minutes.

So Close, but a Big Miss

This TP-Link router held great promise, WiFi 6 / AX speeds and range, fast WAN port, 8 port Gig switch, easy to setup, good looks. The good qualities of this router are plenty, but the DHCP server is limited to 32 reservations, woefully inadequate for a modern smart home where wired and WiFi devices abound. I could go on into the many things I like about this router, but it’s pointless for me, I have filled out a return order and it’s going back. DHCP reservations are the cornerstone of good network management and this router fails to meet the basic needs in this area. If a Firmware Update increases the reservations up to 128 or greater (96 minimum), I would be happy to repurchase this router, as it is ... bye bye.

Wow! We bought this to replace a wireless mesh network that we have been having trouble with getting overloaded. We have 18 devices in our home, two of which are Arlo Baby Cams. Even our AC mesh network, for whatever reason, could not keep up with two Arlo cams and a Netflix stream at once (I assume it has something to do with the fact Arlo uploads and downloads a 1080p video stream simultaneously per camera, so it's really like 5 HD Streams at once). Was tired of trying to cheap out with the different products out there, so we went all out and bought this.
Setup was quick and easy. I LOVE that this has bluetooth, and so you can make all your changes to the router without having to keep reconnecting/reloggin in like the older routers. This was a pleasant surprise. It quickly upgraded its firmware, and we were off to the races. It handles all 18 devices on our network flawlessly, with zero lag, and zero buffering on the Arlos or Netflix/Youtube/etc. I had zero issues with the 2.4Ghz band as noted by a previous reviewer...I'm wondering if they just got a bad one...it happens to all companies. I also didn't have any issues with the UI hanging...it really was perfect right out of the box.
Overall, I'd highly recommend this router if you want the absolutely best speed and throughput available. I'm very satisfied with the purchase, and would buy again in a heartbeat.
Good router with one problem.

Likes: Strong signal that reaches to all parts of my home, security, easy set up, reliable service.
Dislikes: Two Honeywell WIFI thermostats cannot connect to the regular 2.4 signal but can connect to the Guest signal. I had the same problem with an Archer C5400X. These thermostats connected without problems with my old router. I extensively investigated this problem on the C5400X with TPLink support without success before returning that router because it had other unresolvable problems and I am convinced there is something in the hardware or firmware that is common between the C5400X and the AX6000 that is causing the problem.
Nice product, please update the firmware for your adapters if necessary!

Although I do not have any wireless clients that support the AX Wifi standard, I still feel worth it updating from my old TP-Link AC1200 wireless router.
The design is pretty sleek and I do like the indicator light at the top that tells you whether your Wifi is working normally. The on boarding process is quite straight forward and had no issues setup the router. The only thing I want to remind the other customers is that for some outdated wireless adapters ( I have intel AC3165 on my dell laptop) may have incompatibility issues with the router.
You may want to update the firmware/driver of your adapter first, otherwise the SSID will be invisible/unsearchable.
Overall I am very happy about the performance , did not feel any latency when I play streaming videos or play video games and I have over 20 devices connected to it including NAS and Arlo camera system. So far it has been working great.
Not the best not the worst

Good when it works. Semi-frequent connection issues requiring resets despite being on a daily scheduled reboot. IP filters are not the best as it doesn't allow wildcards which makes blocking things like windows updates alot more painful. Aftermarket firmwares are not available yet either. A little tinkering around the settings is recommended if you have the time. With better firmware it might be better but at the moment you may do better with other routers.
